“ People try hard to find objects that suit them, objects which are much more than just instruments that cater to their day by day needs and things that are able to send them off the track of their seemingly useless, routine-driven lives. They search for some sort of extension of their own personality, or for something that frees them and enhances them to go to unexplored places of their beings, or simply for something that fully pleases them and induces an unmistakable feeling of joy, of bizarre gratitude to the simple fact of having been born and thus being able to experience this joy, of great enthusiasm and opening towards the entire world and its characteristically devious ways.  The description can apply to an abundance of ‘stuff’, some quite predictable, others quite weird, and some truly dubious and shady.
And what of me and my orange patent wedge? I was delivered in a white box, travelled across a few countries and a cold sea to get to where my life really began. I make a weird noise on the pavement and I dread cobblestone, though I’m trying to handle that too. I equally steal looks and hearts, I am subject to the coolest of remarks, though at times my value can also be disputed, I walk fast and proudly, I get moody when it comes to sheltering bare legs, so C. usually wears socks when she takes me out for a spin. I complement beautiful dresses and colorful ensembles, I can adapt to a series of styles and shapes, I am most reliable when it comes to making a bold stylistic statement and I never, never go unnoticed. I fear nothing.
I am true to myself and the others around me, I sometimes stumble like everyone does, I have my own bruises and hopes, I happen to hear things I wouldn’t necessarily want to, I take it all as it is and rest for a couple of weeks until I am again called upon: I have been missed… I feel content, I enjoy this life and wouldn’t want it one bit different than it is: chaotic and animated, beautiful and yet unforgiving, gloomy and unexpected, always giving space to magic and tragedy.
I am truly very far away from the generic definition of ‘shoes’. I can do more than elongate legs, slim figures down and add some coveted height. I change lives and ‘colour block’ everything around me. And, most importantly, I know that dreams and craziness grow best at no less than 5 inches above the ground.
Oh, I almost forgot, have you met Cristina? She has a positively original approach to fashion and some stories to tell, too. You might really like her. “
